The Richmond Education and Event Centre
North Brunswick Street, Dublin
Size: 3,320 sq.m
The Richmond has been transformed from the once abandoned Hospital building to a state of the art education and event centre for the INMO. The building is an important landmark and a Protected Structure and has been wonderfully restored and re-imagined. The building was originally opened in 1901 as The Richmond Surgical Hospital.
The building holds much of its original character; a U-shaped plan with winged verandas, a redbrick and terracotta detailed exterior and a paved courtyard, making it a unique event space. The brief was to facilitate educational, corporate and social events for small and large groups.
The Richmond has an auditorium and a number of conference rooms and meeting rooms. This sensitive refurbishment provides state of the art IT and AV facilities for its forty thousand members. The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has a long and successful history of providing Continuing Professional Development which will enhance the use of this special building.
