The Richmond Education and Event Centre

North Brunswick Street, Dublin

Client: INMO

Size: 3,320 sq.m

The Richmond has been transformed from the once abandoned hospital building to a state-of-the-art education and event centre for the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO). The building is an important landmark and a Protected Structure and has been wonderfully restored and re-imagined. The building was originally opened in 1901 as The Richmond Surgical Hospital.

The building holds much of its original character; a U-shaped plan with winged verandas, a redbrick and terracotta detailed exterior and a paved courtyard, making it a unique event space. The brief was to facilitate educational, corporate and social events for small and large groups.

The building has an auditorium and a number of conference rooms and meeting rooms. This sensitive refurbishment provides state-of-the-art IT and AV facilities for its 40,000 members. The INMO has a long and successful history of providing Continuing Professional Development which will enhance the use of this special building.
